THIRD QUARTER 2008

PASTOR'S PEN:

Greetings:

This is the final quarter of 2008. We have had a strong year.

For instance, the “Seven Last Sayings of Christ” service and “Praise in the Parking Lot” were awesome. We increased numerically as well as spiritually impacted the lives of all who attended. People are still talking about both events. Also, we shared thousands of dollars with St. Jude’s, which will assist scientists in doing research and hopefully finding cures for dreadful children diseases, such as Leukemia, Sickle Cell and Cancer. You continue to live by the Biblical principle: “To whom much is given, much is required.”

Further, as you and the community have responded in the past to preaching, I know that you will respond in a similar way to Drs. Tellis Chapman, E. L. Branch and their congregations as our guest during the Dr. J. P. Wilson Fall Revival and Pastor and Family Celebration. As you can see, this year we will combine the two. We will have preaching Friday night (Dr. Chapman), Sunday morning (Dr. Marshall Ausberry), and Sunday afternoon (Dr. Branch). Stay tuned for further details.

In regards to the Appreciation service, thanks for your desire to set aside a time to honor my family and me. Words cannot express how meaningful this is to us. You have been doing this for several years but each year is unique, special and touches our hearts at new depths. Thank you.

Lastly, Mt. Olive as we started the year out strong, we can finish it strong. In November, we will celebrate the Ushers’ ministry and Harvest Festival. In December, we will celebrate, under the leadership of the Heavenly Hands ministry, the Christmas Holiday season. Let’s go out with a bang, numerically, financially and spiritually.
